Navajo Santa strives to enhance the lives of indigenous peoples. We acknowledge and support the strengths and the needs of the Navajo people in and around the Utah strip communities through the spirit of giving while fostering trust and respect between cultures.
We provide this support with three annual programs: NAVAJO SANTA FAMILY DELIVERY A delivery of gifts to families in need across the Utah strip. Traditionally this program has always been held the first weekend of each December. NAVAJO SANTA GIVEAWAY The Navajo community gathers for a give-away of food, warm clothing, tools, toys and to enjoy a traditional Navajo dinner. This general gathering is held the same weekend of our Family Delivery in early December. NAVAJO SANTA GOES TO SCHOOL Each year an elementary school is identified to provide students with warm coats, back to school items, eye examinations, dental hygiene kits and dental education. We are very fortunate to have many dear supporters without whose generousity we could not have made these many years of Christmas giving possible—thank you! TSÉBII´NIDZISGAI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AT MONUMENT VALLEY WELCOMES NAVAJO SANTA August 26, 2011 MONUMENT VALLEY, UT. Navajo Santa celebrated it's 8th consecutive Navajo Santa Goes To School program with a very rewarding visit of Tsébii'nidzisgai Elementary School at Monument Valley. With the goal of encouraging education among reservation children, Navajo Santa works to provide education materials, excitement and school spirit with this yearly delivery. Each student received a backpack with school and art supplies, a school mascot sweatshirt, an oral hygiene kit and dental health program. A check for five hundred dollars was presented to Principal Whitfield to be used for funding of a project of their choice. Navajo Santa would like to thank the generous support of Eye Care 4 Kids for bringing their traveling eye examination to the school and for supplying glasses to any child requiring correction. This brand new school is already hard at work serving the young students of the Monument Valley, Oljeto and Mexican Hat communities. Congratulations to Principal Whitfield, her staff and student body of this beautiful school! More News |
